St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, a vibrant, open and growing parish in an 1892 National Landmark building in the heart of historic Sea Cliff on the North Shore of Long Island, seeks a Music Director/Organist to work with our energetic, community focused Rector in building the loyal amateur choir and music program. We seek a personable musician with strong organ and choral leadership skills, abundant energy, and a good sense of humor.
The recently expanded 2/24 organ, 3 pianos and a spacious choir room provide the nucleus for the program. The church is a warm, inviting worship space for this welcoming, inclusive congregation deeply appreciative of its music program and the focus on the weekly Rite II Eucharistic Service.
This is a ¼ time position with one Sunday service and one weekly choir rehearsal as well as traditional seasonal services for Holy Week and Advent. The salary range is $17-21,000 per year. Weddings and Funerals are paid separately. 4 weeks vacation is arranged with the Rector. The church will pay for membership in AGO and AAM and strongly encourages the MD/O to be active in each.
