St. Luke's Hymn Study
Thursdays at 5:30PM on Zoom
Augustine, the great fifth-century bishop of North Africa, said, ''Those who sing pray twice. '' The words of our hymns are prayers, and when we sing them we add a further dimension of honor and praise. St. Luke's Hymn Study is an opportunity to add another layer to this equation. By examining hymns - their texts, origins, composers and impact - and talking about them with one another we add to their power to transform us. Not just for singers. In fact, there isn't any singing. Just prayerful discussion.
All are welcome to join this online discussion about the hymns appointed for upcoming Sundays, led by members of the St. Luke's Choir.
